An antique Kerman Lavar Rug saddle cover, South Persia
The soft raspberry-red field with various polychrome floral and leafy sprays together with stylised plants around double floral medallion. One end of the field with opening for saddle back. In an indigo and ivory triple floral meander border between plain stripes. Great example for this type, seldom found on the market. Design is well drawn and colours and very well balanced. This piece has very good pile. Selvages and ends original. In general, this saddle cover is in very good condition. Very elegant and sought after type.
