Rug Description
An antique Kerman rug, south Persia
Seldom found type woven as saddle cover with two pieces to fit the saddle joined by canvas .The main piece with raspberry-red field with stylised multicoloured flowering vase, cypress trees and flowering vine. Surrounded be double floral and leafy vine border. Other piece in crescent shape with similar colours and designs. This saddle coven has very good pile. Colours and well balanced and very nicely drawn design. Selvage all around with short fringes, secured. In general, this piece is in very good usable condition. Unusual and sought after type on the market.
