Rug Description

Very Fine Hand-knotted Antique Kashan Silk Persian Rug, 1880 ca. In this small-sized runner, the design spreads over floral motifs surrounded by “spiral leaves” that accompany the evolution of the design in succession. The pink background welcomes daring color combinations, such as golden yellow, which only thanks to the skill of Persian knotting master’s is lively elegant. The border in shades of sky blue contains floral motifs of palmettes surrounded by small curvilinear leaves in the Herati or lanceolate style.
