Antique Pictorial (landscape) Kashan Dabir persian Rug. 1920 ca. Kashan is among the oldest cities in Iran and among the most important for carpet production. Just to remember its importance, a few steps from the city it is possible to visit one of the oldest buildings in the world, the ziggurat and it is possible to visit the gardens of Fin, probably among the first proto-Islamic gardens better preserved. In this magnificent Kashan Dabir carpet, of exceptional fineness, we can appreciate the landscape scene knotted there. The complexity of the design and the combinations of color and shades allow us to read the entire design with extreme ease. The faces of the characters are represented excellently. The depth of field as well as the proportions of the decorations and perspectives are masterfully represented. The meticulousness of the motifs present in this ancient Kashan Dabir is truly incredible; everything is articulated and developed with taste and elegance. The border of this Kashan Dabir is very well proportioned, the chromatic choice, tending towards cerulean shades, hosts couples of friends and lovers, harmoniously surrounded by “gul farang” style flower motifs. The state of conservation of this ancient Kashan Dabir is exceptional, the colors are perfectly matched.
