Rug Description

An antique Afshar kelleh, South-West Persia
Size, approx: 420cm. x 244cm.
The indigo field with overall shield design of bold multicoloured hooked and serrated panels. In multiple borders of flowering vine, rosettes, barber-pile and ribbon stripes. Outer multicoloured cord at each side. Beautifully drawn design and very good colour combination. This carpet has slight wear to the top pile in small places, barely visible, otherwise good pile, soft wool quality. Black is very slightly corroded. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this carpet is in very good usable condition. Attractive and ver good furnishing piece.
