Antique Persian Farahan Carpet, ca 19th Cantury. An extraordinary large format antique Persian Bijar carpet. A truly elegant and magnetic carpet. The midnight blue background, as in a sky, is studded with harshang motifs ( crab motif) across the board. Like the stars that shine in the sky, in this magnificent antique Persian Bijar carpet, the harmony and the chromatic accents fill the eyes with colors and harmonious decorations that chase each other across the entire background. The harshang motifs follow in three horizontal and five vertical arrangements alternating with modular floral motifs. The filling patterns are rich in color and very precise from a graphic point of view, making this antique Persian Bijar carpet a truly masterpiece. The tones are masterfully matched, the wools soft and bright, the proportions balanced. All framed by a series of borders with sinuous decorations and delicate shades, the main one on a brick background, bearing the samovar herati motif or turtle motif. The state of conservation is decidedly good, professionally washed, can be used immediately.
