Rug Description
An antique Baluch Rug, north-east Persia
The light camel-beige field with bold hooked angular vine and hooked bars. Inner angular leaf vine and small rosette frame. In an angular rust-red border of stellar flower-heads and hooked bars between linked arch and barber-pole stripes. Very good type with unusual field design. Very we balanced colours. This rug has slightly corroded charcoal-black due to age, otherwise good pile. Selvages original. Ends have slight loss to guard stripe, they are with short fringe and secured. Despite imperfections this rug is in good usable condition. Very good example from Balouch tribal weaving.
