Kilim Description
The strong desire of russian aristocrats and rich bourgeois to furnish their palaces in a french style, gave birth to this extraordinary composition with bouquets of flowers and a large basket of pastel. The name Bessarabian traditionally derives from the historical region where these rugs/kilims were carefully made. The best Bessarabian rugs/kilims were produced in the 18th century in the Russian Imperial Tapestry Factory. You can design a breathtaking living room on this fabulous Bessarabian kilim.This kilim is ready to be used or to be added to any unique collections. Terrific workmanship, some small spots.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
