Textile Description

Italian Textile, Artistic manufacture from Southern Italy and the Islands: a masterpiece of symmetry and textile prestige. This extraordinary textile, rendered in a luminous antique gold hue, represents one of the highest expressions of historical Italian craftsmanship. The composition unfolds with impeccable architectural rigor: a lozenge pattern, masterfully generated by the raised profile of the design, punctuates the entire surface, creating a geometric grid of great visual impact.

Within elegant oval cameos, arranged in rhythmic successions, are front-facing peacocks. The peacock, an ancestral symbol of immortality, resurrection, and royalty, is rendered here with striking definition, supported by ideal pillars that lend solidity and solemnity to the structure. The use of textural relief not only defines the design but allows light to play across the fibers, enhancing the preciousness of the golden tint.

A detail of exceptional documentary value is the presence of Latin inscriptions running along the upper and lower edges.
