A wonderful and rare antique Heriz rug of significant size, cm 713×455, made in the 19th century. On a rare natural ivory background, a sinuous design unfolds, composed of Herati motifs, interrupted by a delightful central medallion on a midnight blue background enhanced by golden yellow profiles. The color composition is vibrant and well-balanced; the combinations of proportions and color details are truly a testament to great skill and experience in the creation of high-quality, prestigious carpets. The abrash, particularly affecting the blue tones, adds an additional delicacy to the carpet, which, despite its majesty, captivates us with its warm tones and understated elegance. The borders featuring tortoise and Herati motifs are elegantly arranged around the entire frame, gracefully and characterfully defining the filling.
