Rug Description

An antique fine Mohtasham Kashan rug, central Persia
The indigo field with delicate vine linking polychrome palmettes, rosettes and leaves around rust and light blue palmette and arabesque cusped medallion with pendants and ivory floral centrepiece.Spandrels similar. In an indigo border of multicoloured palmette and serrated leaves between sandy-beige similar design stripes. Outer arrowhead and plaid stripes. Very good example for this type. Rather unusual size seldom found in the market. Colours are very well blended. Apart of light touches of wear to the top pile in few small places, barely visible, this rug has good pile , soft ald lustrous kurk wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done.
