Rug Description

An antique Baluch rug, north-east Persia
The sandy-beige field with vertical hooked columns and serrated palmettes. Open mihrab above with similar design. In camel-brown shaped border of rosettes and hooked bars between barber-pole and plain stripes. Kilim at each end with chevron and S motifs. Very good type with well balanced colours and usual design with open mihrab. This rug has wear to the pile on the field and border. Selvages and ends original. Despite imperfections this rug is in good usable condition. Classic for this type.
