An antique Chinese Peking rug
The light sandy-yellow field with overall design of delicate angular leafy sprays and shaped panels together with Buddhist motifs. Inner open band of crossed circles. In light blue border of stylised landscape cartouches and floral sprays. Outer plain stripe. Unusual oval shape with nice overall design and well balanced colours. This rug had good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. I’m general, this rug is in very good condition. Very good type and elegant furnishing piece.
