An antique Sarouk rug, west Persia
The deep indigo field with delicate angular floral and leafy fine aroud large ivory serrated floral medallion with bold palmette pendants together with smaller shaded rust shape radiating floral centrepiece. In shaded rust borer of multicoloured various bold palmettes between flowering vine and plain stripes. This rug has very good pile, soft wool quality, very well balanced colours. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this rug is in very good condition. Attractive and very elegant piece.
