A very fine Kashan silk rug, Central Persia
The light blue field with overall design of multicoloured serrated palmettes, cloud bands together with angular flowering vine. In light-rust border of palmettes and flowering vine between light beige floral meander and light blue outer plain stripe. Great example of this type with very soft and shiny silk quality. Very good colour combination Original kilim ends with chain stitch. Selvages are also original. Seldom found in this size. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout, very attractive piece.
