An antique Kashkuli rug, south-west Persia
The deep indigo border of large stylised flowering vases flanked by animal figures together with serrated palmettes, birds and animal motifs. Central floral serrated pole-medallion. In broad ivory border of bold polychrome rosettes and angular floral tendrils between ribbon and plain stripes. Checkered skirt at each end. Great example for this type with elegant design and very good colours. This rug has full pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with original fringes. In general, this rug is in very good condition. Very attractive and sought after type on the market.
