Rug Description

Antique Persian Heriz Silk Rug, 1900 ca. Heriz silk carpets are among the most coveted not only by international collectors but, given their rarity, especially by professionals in the textile sector. In this exceptional artefact we can appreciate the proportions tending towards the square which we rarely find in the productions of the early 20th century. What immediately stands out when observing this Heriz in silk are the refinement of the tones, delicate and warm, the proportions of the design which develops with elegance, the well-modulated contrasts. The large polylobed medallion in powder pink on the outside and light olive green in the center is decorated with small floral motifs remaining well calibrated on the ocher colored background also decorated with small floral motifs. To embellish the decoration of the background are the delicate counter-edges with very light decoration and slightly contrasting tone on tone. The border with the Herati motif gives prominence to the entire carpet further enhancing the internal decoration. Excellent state of conservation. Explore our collection of antique Heriz rugs.
