Rug Description
Antique Caucasian Lezghi rug. 1900-1920. A medium-large antique Caucasian Lezghi carpet. The main border of this antique Caucasian Lezghi carpet hosts the modular crab motif on an ivory background, well-matched in color and well modulated over the entire surface. The minor borders contain rosette motifs, small “x” motifs and medacyl. The background of this antique Caucasian Lezghi carpet on a midnight blue is dominated by 4 medallions with a scalar profile with tribal designs inside. The medallions are surrounded by a few tribal style decorative elements across the entire background. The dimensions of this antique Caucasian Lezghi carpet are rather rare, and allow it to be placed both in a sofa area or in an area to be enhanced. The state of conservation of this antique Caucasian Lezghi carpet is excellent, ready to be placed in a new room.
