Rug Description

This is an antique Semnan carpet from north-central Iran woven during the beginning of the 20th-century circle 1900 and measures 430 x 320CM in size. Its design consists of alternating rows of medallions surrounded by smaller floral motifs set on a red background color. Its main border is made up of many different palmettes and floral motifs set on the same red background color as the field. this piece contains the weaver’s signature which is located at the center of the bottom of the rug and says” Semnan Rahbar”. this piece has an extremely fine we’ve and has retained its meaty thick full pile which will enable this rug to be used in any setting for many decades to come.
