Rug Description

This is an extra-large antique turkish Izmir carpet woven in Turkey during the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1920’s and measures 565 x 360CM in size. This carpet has an open field design with semi-circle motifs located at each end of the field. The border has a geometric design with different abstract motifs including flowers, cloud bands, and ram horns. This piece has been preserved in overall good condition with some areas of wear and re-piling which are consistent with its age.
