An antique Kerman Lavar rug pictorial, south Persia
The soft light beige field depicting Mary and Jesus. Mihrab above with floral band and floral motifs. Double reciprocal floral cross panel at the other end. In light beige border of flowering vine between barber-pole stripes. Unusual subject for this type, seldom found at the market. This rug has slight localized wear to the top pile in small places, barely visible. Otherwise good pile. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this rig is in very good usable condition, elegant and very well drawn design.
