This is a rare silk Heriz from northwest Persia woven circa 1880. Silk Heriz rugs are known as the best silk carpets woven from the mid 19th century until the end of the 19th century. Runner format silk Heriz rugs are extremely rare and the design of this example known as Saf is seldomly seen and highly great collection.

At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured.
