A very fine part silk Nain rug, Central Persia
The soft light-blue field with multicoloured palmettes, scrolling floral and leafy vine around floral and arabesque medallion with pendants and bold rosette centrepiece. Arabesque spandrels. In light beige border of similar design between floral and plain stripes. Very good example from Nain weaving. This rug has full pile, soft and lustrous wool quality and part silk. Very good colour combination. Ends with short fringes. Secured. Selvages original. Fine weave typical for this type. In general, very good condition throughout. Elegant and attractive rug.
