Rug Description

A large antique Spanish Savonnerie carpet.
Size, approx: 590cm. x 300cm.
The soft light beige oval field with single large stylised vase with multicoloured floral bouquet at each end. Central floral open rounder flanked by ribbon. Similar ribbon motif at each side. In broad stripped frame border between and outer plain stripe. Very good type seldom on the market. Very nicely drawn design and very good colour combination. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous wool quality. Ends and selvages original also secured.
Initial R E (Real Fabrica De Tapices) and date 1908 at one one end. In general this carpet is in very good condition. Great furnishing piece. Elegant and attractive carpet.
