A fine long Kirman runner, South Persia
Size, approx: 559cm. x 90cm.
The shaded apricot-beige field with bold floral sprays and flowering vine around single column of multicoloured floral and arabesque medallions together with stylised open oval panels of polychrome floral sprays and rosette centrepieces. In light sea-green open frame border of palmettes, arabesques and scrolling floral vine. Outer plain stripe. Very good type with elegant and nicely drawn design. Colours are well balanced. This runner has full pile soft wool quality. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this runner is in very good condition throughout. Great furnishing piece, long and narrow, popular at the market.
