Rug Description
A fine antique Dabir Kashan carpet, Central Persia
Size, approx: 400cm. x 312cm.
The deep indigo field with meandering floral and left vine linking polychrome palmettes l, rosettes and floral bouquets around cusped rust-red medallion containing floral panels and rosettes enclosing smaller floral centrepiece. Floral spandrels with single pictorial cartouche. In rust-red border of stylised polychrome palmettes, flowering vine, trees and arabesques between triple floral stripes. Outer plain stripe.
Very good type with very well drawn design and good colour combination. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous kurk wool.
Selvages original. Ends with short fringes secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout. Great furnishing piece. Attractive and sought after type.
