A fine antique Kashan Dabir carpet, Central Persia
Size, approx: 423. x 320cm.
The deep indigo field with meandering floral and lefty vine issuing various multicoloured palmettes around cusped rust-red and blue similar design double medallion with pendants enclosing ivory lozenge floral centrepiece. Rust-red arabesque and floral spandrels. In rust-red border of polychrome bold palmettes and flowering vine between ivory, blue and deep indigo similar design stripes. Very good type seldom found in carpet size. Classic design and colours. This piece has very good pile throughout, soft and lustrous wool quality. Selvages rebound, very well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition. Attractive and sought after type on the market.
