Rug Description
A very large antique Heriz carpet, North-West Persia
Size, approx: 685cm. x 400cm.
The indigo field with angular floral and leafy vine together with hooked leaves around large ice-blue and rust double medallion with pendants containing similar design enclosing sandy-beige bold radiating centrepiece. Linked ivory and blue spandrels similar. In rust multicoloured turtle-palmette border between floral vine and plain stripes. Beautifully drawn design and very good colour combination. Seldom found in very big size for this type. This carpet has very good pile. Selvages rebound, very well done.
Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition throughout. Superb furnishing piece. Very attractive and elegant piece.
