Antique Persian Heriz Silk Rug, 1880-1900
An outstanding silk heriz rug made at the end of XIX century. Heriz is very well known for the beauty of the carpets woven with azerbaijani style and with a special skill in the dye of wool and silk. Silk carpets made in Heriz, are quite rare to find in good condition in the market and this amazing Heriz rug is in a very good condition considering the age and that silk often could become stiff and dry. In this special rug we can immediately appreciate the high quality also on the colors combination and in the graphical structure of the design all over. The multicolored main border is very well drawn with delicate contrasts and a very sofisticated design. Minor borders are defintely accurate and well spaciousily drawn. The field is decorated with very care in the use of colors, pattern and details. Specially for this antique Silk Heriz we can apperciate again the finesse and the “high resolution” of all the patterns and decoration well chained each other. This silk Heriz rug bring also some inscription ( Hamal Muhammad and sha baf??) on both vase that start the prosecution of the all over design. The balance of design and colors is simply perfect and never boring, more energy to the design is given by the ending in a new design of plumes in dark blu backround, sorrounded by blossom and by a superb combination of colors and contrast with the other floral motifs of the rug.
