Rug Description

An antique Haji-Jalili Tabriz carpet, North-West Perisa
Size, approx: 385cm. x 265cm.
The soft rust-red plain field with large light beige concentric floral medallion with pendants, enclosing central rosette panel centrepiece. Linked spandrels similar. In rust-red border of bold polychrome palmettes as stylised arabesques together with floral tendrils between flowering vine and plain stripes. Great type, sought after on the market. Design is very well drawn, bold appearance with very good colour combination. This carpet has touches of slight west to the top pile in few places, barely visible, otherwise, good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this carpet is in very good condition. Excellent furnishing piece. Very attractive.
