Rug Description
An antique Karabagh runner, South Caucasus
Size, 575cm. x 105cm.
The shaded rust-red field with open herati design together with stylised animal figures and birds around central double floral medallion. Ivory floral spandrels. In an indigo border of polychrome rosettes and angular floral vine between sandy-yellow floral meander and plain stripes.
Classic for this type with very good colours. This runner has slight localised wear to the top pile, barely visible. Selvages secured. Ends with short fringes also secured. In general this runner is in very good usable condition. Great size, long and narrow, sought after on the market. Elegant and attractive piece.
