Rug Description
An antique Karabagh kelleh, South Caucasus.
The deep indigo field with overall bold Afshan design of large multi-coloured flaming palmettes, various Hooke and angular floral panels together with delicate angular floral vine and split palmettes. In rust-red border of stylised turtle-palmettes between aqua-blue floral meander and linked floral panel stripes. Outer reciprocal and plain stripes.
Great overall design with good colour combination. Sought after type on the market. This carpet has even wear to the top pile, down to knot collar in places.
