Rug Description

Antique Caucasian Perpedil Rug, 1880-1900.
A real rarity considering the format of this incredible Perpedil. The all-round design, with the typical “Perpedil design” or a succession of stylized “ram’s horns” motifs both laterally and along the center of the carpet. The carpet is very fine and the design very dense and precise. Small fill motifs and stylized eight-pointed stars of Quba accompany the articulation of the ram’s horn design. The borders contain a multicolored “kufic” motif. Small border of carnations and medacyl chisel this magnificent antique Caucasian carpet. The state of conservation is excellent.
