Rug Description

This is a rare yellow ground Kuba rug woven in present-day Azerbaijan during the end of the 19th century. Kuba rugs are known for their usage of bright saturated colors and this example is no exception. Its rare yellow field color is highly desired by both collectors and designers alike and the ivory main border creates the perfect amount of color contrast within the rug.

The field is made using rows of alternating tribal motifs and located on the sides of the field are columns of repeating “Z”, dog, and miniature medallion motifs. The color palette of the rug is off all happy colors such as red, blue, green, apricot, yellow, pink, burgundy, and walnut. This example has an extremely fine weave with all 100% natural vegetable dyes and is in great condition. This rug has been professional cleaned and is ready to be used and enjoy for many more years or added to any tribal rug collection.
