An antique Chichi rug, East Caucasus
The abrashed deep indigo field with vertical columns of multicoloured holed panels, rosettes, serrated leaves and stylised jewellery motifs. Inner blue arrowhead open frame. In rust-red border of polychrome toes tees between floral panel and barber-pole stripes.
Very good type, sought after on the market. Classic design and well balanced colours. This rug very slight wear to the top pile barely visible. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general very good usable condition. Attractive and elegant piece.
