Rug Description
This is an antique Tibetan rug woven during the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1920 and measures 150 85CM in size. Its design consists of two geometric medallions with a center swastika motif that separates them set on a light red background color. The border is made up of repeating polychrome geometric cloud motifs set on an alternating multi-colored background. This piece has been woven on a cotton foundation and made using wool pile and a wide array of pastel colors. It has been retained and overall great condition with most of its original full pile making it a perfect piece to be used and enjoyed for decades to come.
At Mollaian srl we try to do our best, giving a new life to some of antique rugs with minor problems, that may have affected by age. So, apart from what is visible on the presented photos, it should be noted that the rugs are professionally cleaned, and where necessary, the Selvages/Sides and Ends/Fringes have been secured. Upon request, we can provide a complete condition report (including any retouch performed by our restoration team), if it is not already presented down below.
