This is a Kurdish runner from northwest Persia and it was woven circa 1900. The field is filled with rows of repeating palmettes that sit on camel hair background. The border is composed of repeating arrows that are made of four arrows all painted at each other. In the field, two large paisleys break up the repeating geometric design. This rug has been woven on a cotton foundation with 100%wool pile. The tribal theme of this rug is unique and will add that special tribal feel to any house.
